In 2009, a spark ignited in the heart of Anna Hartwell during a mesmerizing performance of Giselle at a local theater in Vancouver, British Columbia. Growing up in Vancouver, Anna spent her formative years immersed in the world of dance. In the summer of 2009, Anna launched Volare, a ballet clothing brand dedicated to celebrating the art of dance. The name, which means “to fly” in Italian, perfectly encapsulated her vision: to create garments that allowed dancers to move freely and express their artistry. Each piece was designed with meticulous attention to detail, combining classic ballet aesthetics with modern flair. Anna focused on creating leotards, tutus, and accessories that not only looked stunning but also empowered dancers to perform at their best.

From the very beginning, Volare stood out for its commitment to quality and style. Anna sourced sustainable materials, ensuring that her garments were not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly.
